AO CABO TEATRO systematically seeks in the classical and contemporary repertoires the poetic material that feeds an idea of theater as a machine of interpretation and rewriting of the present. With each new project, it mobilizes a coherent team in the exercise of a creative model that builds significant universes through the continuous confrontation of knowledge and theatrical languages. In recent years, he has repeatedly visited the work of Chekhov (“Platónov”, 2008; “The Seagull”, 2010; “The Three Sisters”, 2011) and Shakespeare's (“Ricardo II”, 2007; “Medida por Medida”, 2012; “Coriolanus”, 2014, “The Tragedy of Julius Caesar”, 2019) toured Tennessee Williams (“The Crystal Zoo”, 2009), Eugene O'Neill (“Desire Under the Elms”, 2011), Friedrich Dürrenmatt (“The Visit of the Old Lady”, 2013), Sophocles (“Ájax”, 2014), Lars Norén (“Demons, 2014”), Jean Racine (“British”, 2015), Dostoyevsky (“Underground”, 2017) and Duncan Macmillan (“Lungs”, 2018). He also works on other forms of relationship between theatrical gesture and its audiences, between professionals and non-professionals, such as “Porto São Bento” (TeCA, 2013), “Arquipélago” (Ilha da Bela Vista, 2014), “Herbarium” (Porto, 2021) and “Ruinas” (Aveiro, 2021).
